How it works

How It Works

Start with intention, not the number

The number can feel overwhelming at first, but it isn’t there to discourage you. What matters most is the sincere intention to return, make up what you can, and keep moving forward. Allah is Most Merciful, and Hisaab is meant to help you take that journey one prayer at a time.

Step 1: Estimate what you owe
Enter your age now and the age when prayer became obligatory for you. Hisaab uses that to help estimate the prayers you may need to make up.
Step 2: Adjust the estimate
Account for periods when you were already praying consistently and other relevant adjustments so the estimate better reflects your situation.
Step 3: Set a pace that works for you
Choose a manageable qada goal. You do not need to fix everything overnight. Consistency matters more than overwhelming yourself.
Step 4: Log each qada prayer
Whenever you make up a missed prayer, mark it in Hisaab. Your remaining total and progress update automatically.
Step 5: Keep moving forward
Use your history and progress views to stay consistent and see how far you’ve come.

What is Hisaab?

Hisaab: Prayer & Qada Tracker is an app for tracking your daily prayers and any prayers you need to make up (qada). It also includes prayer times, a Qibla compass, and a history of your progress.

Can I use Hisaab without an account?

Prayer tracking works on your device. An account is used for cloud backup, so your data can be restored on another device.

What does cloud backup do?

Cloud backup saves a copy of your Hisaab data so you can restore it if you change or reset your device.

Does Hisaab track my location?

Hisaab uses your location to show local prayer times and the Qibla direction. See the Privacy Policy for details on how your information is handled.

Can I change prayer calculation settings?

Yes. You can adjust prayer time calculation settings, including choosing the Hanafi or standard method for Asr.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Account deletion is available in the app. See the Privacy Policy for details on data removal.
